“More Important” vs. “More Importantly”

Many people like to use the introductory words more importantly, but they’re wrong to make important an adverb. You want to use more important when you say, “Blah, blah, blah, and more important, bliddy, bliddy, blah.” It’s short for “what is more important.” If you make it an adverb, you should be comparing things, such as “She treated him more importantly than she treated her.”
